Telemetry data is transmitted from the transmitter in the form of a serial data stream. To enable data transfer to an iPhone or iPad device, users need a specific iMSB FrSky Bluetooth Smart module - also known as Bluetooth 4.0 - which connects physically to the transmitter's data port.

The real-time functionality of iMSB FrSky is exclusive to FrSky S.Port enabled transmitter systems (X-Series receiver) with currently limited availability of S.Port based telemetry sensors.
